SmartB SNMP Agent for UPS

The SmartB SNMP card is a plug and play hardware SNMPv1 agent and web server for Uninterruptible power supplies, based on Silabs 48 MIPS microcontroller. Additionally, it also communicates with Windows/Linux Power Management Software from SmartB Technologies to provide total power management solutions. SNMP card is interfaced to UPS through RS232 cable and card connects to the external world through 10/100 Ethernet port. Ethernet port supports full 10/100 speed with autonegotiation and full-duplex. Two status LEDs show the link and activity status of the ethernet port. If the connected port (switch, router or another PC) supports 100 MBPS, then the card will always connect at 100 MBPS leading to ethernet access of UPS data at blistering speed.

1 Data centre with NMS – No network PCs. You can use SNMP card and use it for data centre applications, for direct connectivity to NMS + direct web browser interface to UPS hardware.
2 Data centre with NMS + Network PCs You can use SNMP card and connect it to NMS, and also have client software for safe shutdown of client machines. Client software has all other features like pop-ups, configurability, file saving etc. This is useful if the customer wants NMS and web interface even when all the PCs are shutdown (hardware network port), but also wants management, file saving and shutdown of all PCs in the network.
3 Network PCs with Windows, No Data centre with NMS + UPS with Ethernet port Windows client software will seamlessly integrate with SNMP card to have a complete network power management for a UPS with Ethernet port
4 Network PCs with Windows + UPS with serial port You can remove SNMP card and use the windows UPS Manager server software with the serial port of UPS. Complete network shutdown, load based shutdown management, file saving, database shutdown etc.
5 Data centre with NMS + Network PCs with Linux You can use SNMP card and connect it to NMS, and also have Linux software for safe shutdown of client machines working on linux. Client software has all other features like pop-ups, configurability etc. This is useful if the customer wants NMS and web interface even when all the PCs are shutdown (hardware network port), but also wants to manage safe shutdown of network PCs.
6 Network PCs with Linux, No Data centre with NMS + UPS with ethernet port Linux client software will seamlessly integrate with SNMP card to have a complete network power management for a UPS with Ethernet port.
7 Network PCs with Linux + UPS with serial port You can remove SNMP card and use the Linux UPS Manager server software with the serial port of UPS. Complete network shutdown management is possible with the help of Linux client software. Optional remote monitoring is also supported.
